At Alphabet Learning Center we know how to get your child ready to start school and give them an edge when it’s time to move to elementary school. Children continue to develop the cognitive, social, language, early literacy and physical skills they need to succeed in school. Children in the entire center are encouraged to view their work and play done in class as their vocation as a student. All children between the ages of one to five years old have an educational program.

One-Year Olds:

One year old children have ten minutes in the morning for story time, circle time, or singing.
Learning Activities are designed to foster emotional security and positive self-concept, as well as physical and cognitive development in each toddler. The activities are organized and developed by the child’s typical routine

Their Activities consist of learning letters, numbers, colors, shapes, art, arts and crafts, circle time, and story time. Each developmentally appropriate activity aids in developing their physical, emotional, cognitive, and social skills.
  • The classroom is organized by centers. The classroom environment is more structured, yet they are still able to have free choice of centers.

  • Teacher-child ratios ensure that every child receives concentrated attention.

Children that turn 4 years old by September 1 may participate in our Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program. The program is a three hours class, typically starting from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. During this time the children are preparing for kindergarten. All activities are hands-on and lessons are developed to foster each child’s individual needs. The Creative Curriculum is used and each week the children concentrate on a specific theme. The use of computers, enhanced a positive vocabulary and language, free expression in art, letter, number, and shape recognition, a positive self concept, and responsibility are all examples of the activities done to aid each child in reaching their full potential and preparing to kindergarten.

  • Parent involvement is beneficial for each child to thrive.
  • Each class is given outside time to allow children to explore nature and their outside surroundings. It also promotes exercise with the use of their large motor skills.
  • Children begin to attend field trips after they turn Four years old.
  • Children that turn 4 years old by September 1 may participate in our Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program. The program is a three hours class, typically starting from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    *Tuition for this program is covered by state funding. Fees apply for additional care for before and after the regularly scheduled Pre-Kindergarten time frame and field trips.
  • The curriculum is developmentally appropriate and designed to provide your child with a foundation in early literacy, mathematics, and developmental skills to help him/her perform successfully in kindergarten. Our curriculum is approved by the State Board of Education. Each week the children concentrate on a specific theme.

Individual cubby spaces help students gain independence by taking responsibility for their own belongings.

After –School Program:

  • Children can play with friends, receive homework assistance, use computers under supervision, or just relax with a book.
  • School-age classrooms include a bathroom, and a playground for school-age children provides safe climbing, swinging and game-related activities to encourage the development of social and gross motor skills.
  • Safe, state-approved and inspected buses transport children to selected public schools, field trips and summer camp activities.
  • Teacher-child ratios ensure every child is given affection, approval and attention.
  • Each classroom offers a wide variety of engaging, developmentally age appropriate activities, including toys, games, equipment and art materials.
  • Each classroom has center-based areas allowing for exploration in dramatic play, science/math, writing, blocks, puzzles, computer, art, manipulatives, housekeeping, music, as well as a library.
  • Literacy is promoted through the use of books, posters, computers and a variety of resource materials.
  • Field trips may be scheduled on breaks or days off from school.

Summer Camp:

  • Your child will love the excitement of summer camp at Alphabet Learning Center – and you’ll love knowing their days are full of activities and fitness. Depending on your child’s age we offer field trips, arts and crafts, and exciting daily activities.
  • Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 6:15 p.m.
  • Activities for ages 1 to 10.

  • Weekly off-site field trips: Aquarium, Zoo, Farm, MOSI, Movies, and more

iSpy Tampa bay

This is a sciences and math program sponsored by the Early Learning Coalition and the Zoo Tampa, Florida Aquarium, Mosi, and Glaze Museum. This program is to build an environment in the classroom to offer the children the opportunities to explore science, math, engineering, technology, and art. As well as making connections with families and the community, offering the family year pass to these amazing places.
